I shall always be grateful to Jack for 30 years of friendship.  Our respective much loved spouses passed away within 3 days of each other and it was a comfort to have someone to confide in who had experienced the same devastating experience and so completely understood.

Our leisure interests were very similar and we had many happy visits to the theatre, cinema, art exhibitions, museums, symphony concerts and Jack introduced me to opera.  He took me to Lords and The Oval for the cricket, and he enjoyed birthday visits to the World  Snooker Championships at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

Then there were our holidays. These ranged from continental coach tours to ocean cruises and were much enjoyed. The positive thing was that was always a date to look forward to and I have so many happy memories.
